Rajasthan Teacher Suicide: Note Cites Harassment

A 59-year-old government school teacher died by suicide Sunday in Nirbhampura village, Alwar district. Police recovered a suicide note. The note cited mental harassment by school staff as a reason for his distress.

Teacher’s Background and Circumstances

The deceased, Baddan Lal Balai, taught at Government Senior Secondary School, Dhelawas. He had 25 years of service. Balai was set to retire in five months. Police found his body hanging in a tin shed. The shed was located at a cattle enclosure, approximately 100 meters from his home.

Suicide Note Details

Authorities recovered a four-page note at the scene. The note reportedly mentioned several factors contributing to Balai’s distress. These included prolonged illness and excessive workload. Pressure related to examinations and panchayat elections was also cited. The note specifically mentioned a lack of cooperation and mental harassment from school staff.

Investigation Underway

Notes and other evidence have been seized by police. A case has been registered based on the family’s complaint. An investigation is currently in progress. The body was moved to Alwar district hospital mortuary. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday.
