Punjab’s Mega PTM: 23 Lakh Parents Engage in Government Schools

The Punjab school education department recently organized a large-scale parent-teacher meeting (PTM) and parents’ workshop. This statewide initiative involved over 23 lakh parents across government schools. The program also saw the participation of more than 40,000 teachers , ensuring representation from at least one educator from each government school throughout Punjab.

Government’s Commitment to Education

State Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains emphasized the government’s rationale behind the initiative. He stated that the program demonstrates a clear commitment to enhancing student learning outcomes. This improvement strategy actively involves parents. The government recognizes parents as essential partners in their children’s educational journey. The initiative specifically aimed to strengthen the existing partnerships between parents and schools.

Extensive Teacher Training Program

A significant preparatory step involved extensive teacher training. More than 40,000 teachers underwent specialized instruction.
