NMC: Only 3,547 NEET SS 2024 Admissions Reported; Students Verify

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has reported only 3,547 admissions for the NEET SS 2024 postgraduate super specialty medical courses. This low figure comes despite a October 15 deadline for medical colleges to upload student details. The NMC now urges all admitted students to verify their information on the official NMC website.

The Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), a branch of the NMC, had instructed all medical colleges earlier this month to submit admission data based on NEET SS scores. Colleges were required to upload full details of admitted students for the academic year 2024-25 by the set deadline. This directive aimed to consolidate a comprehensive list of all verified super specialty admissions nationwide.

However, the PGMEB stated that many institutions either failed to upload student details or provided incomplete information. This lack of compliance resulted in the current reported total of only 3,547 verified admissions. The NMC portal currently displays the names, courses, and college assignments for these verified candidates, ensuring transparency for the listed students.

Student Verification Steps Crucial

Super specialty courses, designated as Doctor of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (MCh), represent advanced medical training. These programs follow a student’s initial postgraduate medical degree, such as an MD or MS. The official listing confirms a student’s enrollment status with the national regulatory body.

All students admitted to DM or MCh courses for the 2024-25 academic year must check their names on the list uploaded to the official NMC website . This verification step confirms their admission status is accurately recorded by the national medical authority. Students should compare their personal details, course name, and assigned institution against the public list.

If a student’s name does not appear on the uploaded list, they must act immediately. Students should contact their respective Directorate of Medical Education (DME) or the designated counselling authority without delay. These bodies can assist in resolving discrepancies and ensuring correct data submission to the NMC.

The NMC emphasized the importance of this verification process. An unlisted admission could lead to administrative complications, including issues with registration, academic progression, or future certification. Students must ensure their details are officially recorded to secure their position in the super specialty program and avoid future setbacks.

NEET SS 2025 Exam Dates Shift Again

Separately, the examination schedule for NEET SS 2025 has been postponed for a second time. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) manages the NEET SS exam, which serves as the entry test for all super specialty medical courses across India.

Initially, the NEET SS 2025 exam was scheduled for November 7 and 8 . The NBEMS has now officially revised these dates. The examination will instead take place on December 27 and 28 . This change impacts candidates’ study schedules and preparation strategies.

Applicants for the NEET SS 2025 exam should note this date revision. The postponement allows additional preparation time. NBEMS will release further details regarding the information bulletin and application process shortly.
