NIELIT South India Campus Opens in Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh government and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) signed an agreement on February 20, 2026 . This pact establishes NIELIT’s first South India campus in Amaravati.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated the agreement strengthens the state’s technology and skilling initiatives. He highlighted the campus’s role in advancing quantum and AI education.

Campus Focus: Emerging Technologies and Semiconductors

The new Amaravati campus will offer training in artificial intelligence and quantum technologies. NIELIT operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

The initiative aims to make Andhra Pradesh a hub for advanced technology education. It also supports the growth of India’s semiconductor sector.

The collaboration seeks to develop skilled professionals for future technology demands. This will build a strong talent pipeline for the industry.

Partnership Details and NIELIT Network

The agreement was finalized in the presence of senior officials. Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, NIELIT Director General, attended the signing.

The campus is expected to create new opportunities for students. It will also attract industry partnerships to the region.

NIELIT’s main campus is in Ropar, Punjab. The institution has 11 existing campuses across India.

These include locations in Agartala, Aizawl, Ajmer (Kekri), Aurangabad, Calicut, Gorakhpur, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Patna, and Srinagar.
