NEET PG Stray Vacancy: 2,980 Seats Open, Feb 19 Deadline

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced 2,980 vacant seats for the final NEET PG stray vacancy round. Candidates registered for this round must submit and lock their choices by February 19 on the official website, mcc.nic.in.

NEET PG Cut-off Reduction Impacts Eligibility

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) informed the Supreme Court that over 95,000 additional candidates are now eligible for NEET PG counselling. This follows a reduction of the qualifying cut-off percentile to zero.

NBEMS stated in an affidavit that interfering with this decision now would affect these newly eligible students. The cut-off for NEET PG was significantly lowered to -40 for all categories.

Key Dates and Actions for Candidates

The registration window closed at 11 am on February 18. Candidates seeking All India Quota (AIQ) seats must finalize their choices by 11:55 pm on February 19.

Choice locking opens at 4 pm on February 19 and closes at 11:55 pm the same day. The NEET PG stray vacancy seat allotment result will be declared on February 21 .

Reporting and Admission Process

Following the allotment results, MCC will provide data to state counseling authorities for verification. Candidates offered seats in the stray round must report to their allocated colleges between February 22 and February 28 to complete their admission formalities.
