NEET PG 2025: MCC Updates Seat Matrix to 28,663 for Round 1

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released an updated seat matrix for NEET PG 2025, confirming 28,663 postgraduate medical seats available. This revised figure, announced before the Round 1 counselling process, represents a net decrease of 97 seats from the initial 28,760. The MCC received information from various medical institutes regarding adjustments to their seat allocations, leading to this final count. Registration and choice filling for Round 1 are currently active, with a deadline of November 5, 2025 .

The revision involved specific changes to seat availability. MCC data shows 49 Doctor of Medicine (MD) / Master of Surgery (MS) seats were withdrawn. Additionally, 54 Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats were removed from the matrix. Conversely, six new seats from private hospitals were incorporated into the Round 1 counselling process. These updates are crucial for candidates making their choices during the allotment phase.
