NCERT Online Diploma for 6-8 Science Teachers | Apply Now

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched an online diploma course for science teachers of Classes 6 to 8. Registration for the “teaching of science at middle stage” program closes on December 28, 2025 .

Application Process and Dates

Eligible teachers can apply for the 40-week online diploma course through the official website, ncertx.in. A registration fee of Rs 2,000 is required.

Online classes will begin on December 29, 2025 . The program concludes on October 18, 2026 . Classes will be conducted for 6 to 8 hours each week.

Course Focus

This program is designed to strengthen science education at the middle-school level. It seeks to cultivate objectivity and critical thinking among teachers. The course also focuses on skill acquisition and understanding of scientific methods and processes. A key objective is nurturing natural curiosity, aesthetic sense, and creativity in students.

Development and Target Audience

The Department of Education in Science and Mathematics (DESM) at NCERT, New Delhi, developed this online diploma. It specifically targets teachers who instruct science to students in Classes 6, 7, and 8.
