Nagaland University Graduates 6,884 Students, 54 Earn Gold Medals

Nagaland University awarded degrees to 6,884 students at its 8th convocation. The ceremony took place at the Lumami campus on [Insert Date of Convocation Here] . Fifty-four students received gold medals for academic excellence.

Vice President of India CP Radhakrishnan attended the event. He addressed the graduating students. Governor of Nagaland and University Chief Rector Ajay Kumar Bhalla also spoke.

The graduating class included 107 PhD scholars. There were 825 postgraduate students. Additionally, 846 students completed professional programs. The largest group comprised 5,106 undergraduate students.

University Outlook

Vice President Radhakrishnan stated universities create leaders. He urged graduates to use their education for societal contribution. Governor Bhalla advised graduates to be adaptable. He stressed creativity, resilience, and ethical leadership.

Vice-Chancellor Jagadish K. Patnaik called a degree a responsibility. He encouraged students to apply knowledge beneficially. Nagaland University currently manages 53 externally funded research projects. Internal funding supports additional research initiatives.

Faculty produced hundreds of publications. This includes articles on major academic platforms. Faculty also published books and book chapters. The university is expanding academic infrastructure. New buildings are funded by the Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA). Initiatives promote intellectual property. Interdisciplinary research is also a focus.

Future plans include new departments. These may cover engineering, physical education, and vocational studies.
