Madhya Pradesh will conduct board exams for students in Classes 5 and 8 starting in February 2026. The exams will follow a board pattern. Approximately 2.49 million students are expected to participate.
Exam Schedule and Scope
The Madhya Pradesh State Education Center announced the exam dates. The Class 5 and 8 board exams will run from February 20 to February 28, 2026 . Exams will take place at nearly 12,920 centers across the state. Students from government schools, private schools, and madrasas will sit for these examinations.
Student Participation
A total of 2.49 million students are registered for the 2025-26 academic session exams. This includes students from 110,615 institutions. The government has prepared separate language question papers for 20,735 students from 522 private schools. These papers align with the NCERT syllabus.
Digital Exam Management
The school education department developed an IT portal for exam administration. This portal handles student verification and exam center assignments. It also manages the distribution of exam materials and the issuance of roll numbers and admit cards. Attendance recording, evaluation, and marksheet issuance will also occur through this digital system. Every eligible student will have the opportunity to take the exam.
Inclusion of Students
Harjinder Singh, director of the MP State Education Center, stated that exam center heads will accommodate students. This applies to students unable to register before the exam date for unforeseen reasons. Their technical information will be recorded post-exam. Students from 86,109 government schools, 23,980 non-government schools, and 525 madrasas will participate.
