MICAT 2026 Registration Now Open: Apply by Jan 29, Exam Feb 13

The Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) has opened online applications for the MICA Admission Test (MICAT) 2 exam 2026. Prospective students can register from November 25 until January 29, 2026 , via the official MICA website, mica.ac.in. The MICAT 2 exam is scheduled for February 13, 2026 .

MICAT serves as the entrance examination for MICA’s specialized postgraduate and doctoral programs. These include the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C), the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), and the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). These programs focus on management and communication strategies.

MICAT Exam Schedule and Admit Cards

MICA conducts two phases for its admission test. The MICAT phase 1 exam 2026 is scheduled for December 6, 2025 . Admit cards for Phase 1 will be issued three days before this exam. For candidates appearing for MICAT phase 2, admit cards will be released on February 10, 2026 .

MICA Admission Process 2026

Admission to MICA’s programs follows a multi-stage process designed to evaluate candidates comprehensively:

  • Apply for MICAT: Candidates must first complete the online application for the MICA Admission Test.
  • Submit CAT/XAT/GMAT Scores: Applicants are required to submit valid scores from either CAT 2025, XAT 2025, or GMAT 2025 (scores from 2024 are accepted for GMAT). These scores are a prerequisite for MICAT.
  • MICAT Entrance Test: Candidates must appear for either MICAT Entrance Test 1 or 2.
  • Group Exercise and Personal Interview (GE-PI): Shortlisted candidates proceed to a Group Exercise, which assesses teamwork and problem-solving skills, followed by a Personal Interview to evaluate communication and suitability for the programs.
  • Final Selection: MICA makes final selection decisions based on a composite score from all evaluation stages.

MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

To be eligible for MICAT 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold valid scores from CAT 2025, XAT 2025, or GMAT 2025 (with GMAT scores from 2024 also accepted).
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification. This degree must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Candidates currently in their final year of study for their bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree by a specified date.

MICAT Exam Structure

The MICAT examination is structured into three distinct sections to assess various abilities:

  • Section A: Psychometric Test – Evaluates personality traits and suitability for a communication-centric environment.
  • Section B: Descriptive Test – Assesses creative writing, analytical, and communication skills through essay-type questions.
  • Section C: Aptitude Test – Covers core aptitude areas including Divergent and Convergent Thinking, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Awareness.

Application Fee

The standard application fee for MICAT 2026 is Rs 2,500 . If a candidate opts to apply for more than one program offered by MICA, an additional admission fee of Rs 500 is required.
