Meghalaya Schools Closed Dec 12; MBOSE Class 11 Practical Rescheduled

Meghalaya schools will remain closed on December 12 . The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has rescheduled the Class 11 practical exam, initially set for December 12, to December 15 . This decision affects students across the state preparing for their internal and promotion practicals.

The state government declared the December 12 holiday. It commemorates the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma . Sangma was a revered freedom fighter who led resistance against the British colonial rule alongside other warriors.

An official notification from MBOSE confirmed the schedule change. The notice stated: “It is hereby informed to all concerned that, since December 12 is a state holiday, the Class 11 Internal/Promotion Practical Examination, 2025-2026, which was scheduled to be held on this day, shall now be held on December 15.” Students should note the new date for their practical assessments.

MBOSE has also released the complete examination schedule for the Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2026. These dates are important for all students planning their studies for the upcoming academic year.

Class 12 February 18 – March 13, 2026

Both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations will be conducted from 10 AM to 1 PM daily. However, theory papers specifically for vocational courses will have a shorter duration, scheduled from 10 AM to 11 AM .

Exam Day Protocols

Adherence to exam day protocols is mandatory for all candidates. Students are permitted to enter their designated exam halls beginning at 9:30 AM , providing a half-hour window before the official start time. Verification requires students to present both their official hall ticket and student ID upon entry.

Invigilators will distribute the MBOSE question papers to students at 9:45 AM . Following this, answer booklets will be provided at 9:50 AM . This timing allows students a 10-minute period to thoroughly read through the question paper before they begin writing their answers.
