The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 (HSC) exam form submission for the 2026 examinations. Students now have until October 20, 2025 , to submit their forms. This decision provides relief to students and families impacted by recent flood situations across Maharashtra.
Deadline Extended Due to Floods
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the extension. He cited requests from students and parents in flood-affected regions. Heavy rainfall and waterlogging have disrupted normal activities, making it difficult for many to complete the submission process.
Mr. Shinde confirmed discussions with the state education minister led to the decision. The primary goal is to ensure no student misses the opportunity to apply for the upcoming board examinations due to environmental adversities.
Form Submission Process
Students must submit their Maharashtra 12th exam forms through their respective junior colleges. Colleges are responsible for processing these submissions online.
The submission requires the use of a unique Permanent Enrollment Number (PEN-ID). Junior colleges access the submission portal via the official MSBSHSE website, mahahsscboard.in. This centralized system streamlines the application process for all registered students.
Impact of Monsoon Season
The deadline extension follows significant rainfall and flood warnings across Maharashtra. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an Orange alert for several districts. These included Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall expectations.
Government authorities had previously announced school holidays in various districts. Palghar, Nanded, and Beed districts experienced closures following a Red alert for heavy rainfall. These closures affected Anganwadi Centres, government and private primary and secondary schools, and Zilla Parishad institutions. The widespread disruptions highlighted the need for flexibility in administrative deadlines.
The MSBSHSE aims to support students facing challenges. The extended deadline allows sufficient time for all eligible candidates to complete their examination form submissions without undue pressure from natural calamities.
