Kerala SSLC Exams 2026 Start March 5: Key Dates

Kerala’s SSLC examinations will commence on March 5, 2026 . A total of 417,497 students are registered to take the exams across 3,031 centers statewide. The examinations are scheduled to conclude on March 30. This announcement was made by Kerala General Education Minister V. Sivankutty on Monday.

Students in the Gulf region and Lakshadweep will also participate. Six hundred thirty-three students will sit for the exams at seven centers in the Gulf. Three hundred eighty-six students will take the exams at nine centers in Lakshadweep. These numbers are in addition to students taking the exams within Kerala.

Distribution of answer sheets for SSLC, Higher Secondary, and Vocational Higher Secondary exams is complete. Sheets have been delivered to schools under 41 District Educational Offices. Question papers have also reached all 41 district offices. They are now stored in secure bank and treasury lockers after sorting.

Appointments for Chief Superintendents and Deputy Chief Superintendents for the SSLC exam are finalized. Approximately 26,000 teachers will be assigned invigilation duties statewide. This ensures adequate supervision for all examination centers.

Valuation and Results

Applications for exam valuation are open. Around 950 Additional Chief Examiners and 9,000 Examiners are needed. These will be appointed for 72 valuation camps. Appointment orders will be issued in the second week of March. Valuation camps will begin on April 7 and end on April 28. SSLC results are expected by the third week of May 2026.

Plus One Admissions

Online applications for Plus One admissions for the 2026-27 academic year will open the day after SSLC results are published. Sufficient seats will be available for all successful SSLC candidates. Higher education opportunities are guaranteed for all who pass.

The admission process will largely use three main allotment phases. Following these, Plus One classes will begin. Remaining vacancies will be filled through supplementary allotments. This ensures a structured and timely completion of admissions.

Higher Secondary and Vocational Examinations

First-year Higher Secondary examinations start on March 5. Second-year Higher Secondary examinations begin on March 6. Currently, 411,025 students are registered for the first-year Higher Secondary exam. Another 341,222 students will take the first-year improvement exam.

A total of 452,437 students will appear for the second-year Higher Secondary examination. For Higher Secondary exams, 1,984 centers are established. These include 1,966 centers in Kerala, seven in the Gulf, nine in Lakshadweep, and two in Mahe. Higher Secondary results are expected on May 22.

In the Vocational Higher Secondary stream, 26,829 first-year students are registered. Also, 26,826 second-year regular students will take exams. There are 389 examination centers for the vocational stream. Eight valuation camps are designated.

Approximately 3,700 teachers will supervise vocational examinations. Valuation camps for the vocational stream will start on April 6. This is immediately after the theory examinations conclude.
