Kerala has postponed its SSLC and higher secondary examinations for students in the Gulf region. The decision comes in response to rising tensions in West Asia. The examinations were originally scheduled to begin this week.
Examinations Postponed
The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination was set for March 5 . Higher secondary examinations were scheduled for March 5, 6, and 7 . These exams will not proceed as planned in the Gulf region. Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced the postponement Monday.
Minister Sivankutty stated that the current security situation in the Gulf makes conducting the public examinations impossible. He acknowledged student concerns about reaching examination centers. This affects students both in the Gulf and in Kerala.
Revised Dates and Student Support
New dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. The General Education Department is offering support to affected students. Students unable to attend the examinations should submit applications. These applications should go to the Director of General Education.
Applications must be submitted through their respective headmasters or principals. The department will review each application individually. Decisions will be made in the best interest of the students. This aims to ensure no student misses their examinations due to the situation.
