Kerala Class 10 Syllabus Cut by 25%

Kerala’s Class 10 syllabus will be reduced by 25% starting next academic year. Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced the change on Facebook. The goal is to lessen student exam stress.

Syllabus Reduction Details

The reduction focuses on topic relevance and age-appropriateness. It aims to eliminate repetition in the curriculum. Minister Sivankutty stated the changes are not about cutting essential subjects. Core subjects and vital chapters will remain intact.

The decision followed concerns about educational quality. Minister Sivankutty assured that any changes undergo review. A committee of expert teachers and educational analysts approves adjustments. The curriculum committee has already given its approval.

Support for Students

The reduced syllabus will still cover key learning objectives. Students will receive mentorship. Support will be available for crucial topics.

The current books will be modified. The 25% reduction applies to existing content. This adjustment will take effect from the upcoming academic session.
