The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala has urged candidates for Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical (KEAM 2026) courses to collect all mandatory certificates well in advance. CEE Kerala confirmed in an official statement that the KEAM 2026 registration process will commence shortly. Early preparation of documents is crucial to avoid last-minute complications during application.
About KEAM 2026 Admissions
KEAM is the gateway for admissions to various professional programs in Kerala, including engineering, architecture, and pharmacy. These courses are offered across colleges and universities within the state. Admission to these programmes is solely based on the merit score achieved by candidates in the KEAM entrance examination.
Mandatory Certificates for Reservation and Fee Concessions
CEE Kerala has issued a detailed list of documents required for KEAM 2026 registration. These certificates are essential for candidates intending to claim reservation benefits, fee concessions, and to establish overall eligibility. Candidates must ensure all submitted certificates are specifically for state educational purposes; those issued for employment or central education will not be considered.
- SEBC and OEC Candidates: A non-creamy layer certificate, issued by the Village Officer, is mandatory. This certificate must explicitly state it is for state educational purposes.
- SC and ST Candidates: Must provide a caste certificate, which should be obtained from the Tahsildar.
- OEC Candidates (not in non-creamy layer): Required to submit a community certificate, also issued by the Village Officer.
- Fee Concession and Scholarship: Candidates, excluding those from SC, ST, and OEC categories, must present an income certificate from the Village Officer. This document determines eligibility for fee concessions and scholarships based on annual family income.
- Nativity Certificate: If a candidate’s native place is not specified in their school certificates or birth certificate, a nativity certificate signed by the Village Officer is necessary.
- EWS and Caste Certificates: These specific certificates are required to claim respective reservation categories.
- Minority Community Seats: For admissions to minority quota seats in self-financing medical and dental colleges, candidates must produce valid community certificates.
Failure to provide the correct and valid documents can lead to the forfeiture of reservation benefits or fee concessions, impacting admission chances.
Documents Required for NRI Quota Seats
Candidates applying for KEAM 2026 under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota must furnish specific documents related to their sponsor. CEE Kerala’s notification outlines the following requirements:
- A copy of the sponsor’s passport and visa , attested by the Embassy. The visa must remain valid until the application’s closing date.
- The sponsor’s Green Card or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) documents are also acceptable.
- The sponsor’s employment details must be stated in at least one submitted document. If not, an employment certificate , attested by the Embassy or Consulate authorities, must be attached.
- A relationship certificate between the sponsor and the student. This document must be issued by the revenue authorities, adhering to government guidelines.
- In cases where the sponsor is the applicant’s father or mother, the applicant’s educational certificates containing the sponsor’s name can also serve as proof of relationship.
- A sworn affidavit from the sponsor, executed on a Rs 200 stamp paper and notarized by a public notary. This affidavit must confirm the applicant’s financial dependency on the sponsor and commit to bearing all course expenses, including tuition and special fees, for the entire duration of the program.
- Additionally, CEE Kerala will consider documents like Civil ID, resident permit, resident ID, IQAMA, electronic visa, employment pass, or entry visa as proof of residency for the sponsor.
Applicants are advised to gather these documents diligently to ensure a smooth application process under the NRI quota.
