Exam Details
The KARTET 2025 examination was conducted on December 7, 2024 . It ran in two shifts across Karnataka. Paper 1 was held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Paper 2 took place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Paper 1 targets candidates applying for Class 1 to 5 teacher positions. Paper 2 is for teacher vacancies in Class 6 to 8. This year, the department revised Paper 1 eligibility criteria, excluding the Bachelor of Education (BEd) qualification for this paper.
Key Changes to Answer Key
The published final answer key indicates one question has been dropped from Paper 1, Part 1 of the Language 1 exam. Some questions in the KARTET paper also have multiple correct answers listed. The question paper consisted of multiple-choice questions, totaling 150 marks.

The KARTET examination serves as a qualification for teacher recruitment in Karnataka. School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa recently provided an update on teacher vacancies. Karnataka has 41,088 government primary schools. Out of 1,78,935 sanctioned teaching posts, 1,33,345 are filled.
A significant number of teaching positions remain vacant across the state. The minister stated that these vacancies will be filled in a phased manner by the next academic year.
