JKBOSE Class 10, 12 Syllabus Revised; Exam Dates Announced

SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has revised the syllabus for Class 10 and 12 final exams scheduled for October-November 2025. Students will receive a 15 percent syllabus relaxation across Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and the Union Territory of Ladakh, including Kargil district.

The changes apply to prospective students appearing in the Annual Regular, 2025 examination. The Board cited a delayed start to the academic session, coupled with disruptions from heatwave, torrential rains, and floods, as reasons for the syllabus reduction.

Syllabus Relaxation Details

Under the revised scheme, students in Classes 10, 11, and 12 will attempt 85 percent of the total marks in their final examinations. This 85 percent attempt will then correspond to 100 percent of the total marks, effectively providing a 15 percent relaxation in the overall syllabus requirement. The official circular confirms this approach for the October-November session exams.

Question papers will align with the updated syllabus. Students must attempt at least 85% of the total available marks, utilizing the internal choices provided within the exam paper. Additionally, multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and grammar sections in language subjects will be graded separately, ensuring precise evaluation of these components.
