The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results. A total of 12 students achieved a perfect 100 percentile score.
Rajasthan recorded the highest number of 100 percentile scorers among all states. No female candidate reached the 100 percentile mark in this session. Ashi Grewal from Haryana was the top-scoring female candidate, achieving 99.996 percentile.

Exam Statistics
A total of 1,355,293 candidates registered for JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/BTech). Out of these, 1,304,653 candidates appeared, resulting in a 96.26% attendance rate.
Male candidates dominated attendance with 855,085 appearing. Female candidates numbered 449,568.
Qualifying Marks and Cut-offs
Based on current trends, the qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced 2026 is estimated as follows:
- General Category: 90-92 percentile
- EWS Category: 75-78 percentile
- OBC-NCL Category: 73-76 percentile
- SC Category: 50-55 percentile
- ST Category: 40-45 percentile
Scores above these cutoffs make candidates eligible for JEE Advanced 2026. Final cutoffs and All India Ranks (AIR) will be determined after the second session, using the best score from both attempts.
Next Steps for Candidates
Candidates who qualify can begin preparing for JEE Advanced 2026, the entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Students not satisfied with their Session 1 scores can register for JEE Main Session 2. Registration for Session 2 is open until February 25.
JEE Main Session 2 exams will take place from April 1 to April 9 for Paper 1 (BE, BTech) and Paper 2 (BArch, BPlanning). The final merit list will consider the highest score achieved in either session.
For admissions to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes, candidates will participate in the JoSAA counselling process using their JEE Main ranks.
