JEE Main 2026: IIT Hyderabad AI Ranks Rise, CSE Ranks Dip

IIT Hyderabad recorded a tightening of Artificial Intelligence (AI) closing ranks for Open, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories over the past two years. In contrast, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) closing ranks broadened for Open and SC groups. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release JEE Main 2026 admit cards on its official website.

IIT Hyderabad Cut-off Trends

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) data indicates AI closing ranks for the Open category improved from 875 in 2024 to 861 in 2025. For SC students, ranks tightened from 251 to 222. ST category ranks also shifted, improving from 89 to 83, reflecting increased competition for AI programs.

For CSE, Open category closing ranks broadened from 656 in 2024 to 673 in 2025. SC students experienced a similar trend, with ranks expanding from 182 to 198. Conversely, the CSE cut-off for ST students tightened from 82 to 80, showing an improvement in required rank.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Release

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will issue Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2026 admit cards for BTech, BArch, and BPlanning papers. Candidates can access their hall tickets on jeemain.nta.nic.in . An application number and password are required for download.

IIT Hyderabad Placement Overview 2025

IIT Hyderabad completed its 2025 BTech placements, successfully placing 302 students. This figure represents 62.42% of the 487 registered candidates. The highest international offer reached Rs 2.5 crore per annum .

Program-specific placement rates include 83.05% for CSE students and 77.78% for Mathematics and Computing students. The average salary packages for these programs were reported at approximately Rs 40 lakh per annum .
