JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examinations are scheduled from January 21 to January 30 . This window allows applicants to modify specific details submitted during registration.
Exam City and Paper Modifications
Candidates can change their selected examination cities. The NTA notes that center allotments depend on availability and the candidate’s permanent and present addresses. The agency is not bound to assign the candidate’s preferred choices.
Applicants also have the option to add more papers to their application. Adding papers requires payment of additional fees or the fee difference through the available payment modes.
Application Fees for Additional Papers
Specific fees apply when adding papers or for different candidate categories:
- General male candidates opting for one paper (BE, BTech, BArch, or BPlanning) pay Rs 1,000 for centers within India. For centers outside India, the fee is Rs 5,000 .
- General female candidates opting for one paper pay Rs 800 for centers within India. For centers outside India, the fee is Rs 4,000 .
- Male candidates from General, Gen-EWS, or OBC categories opting for multiple papers (e.g., Paper 1 BE/BTech and Paper 2A BArch or Paper 2B BPlanning) pay Rs 2,000 .
- Female candidates from General, Gen-EWS, or OBC categories opting for multiple papers pay Rs 1,600 .
Editable and Restricted Fields
The NTA permits specific changes to the JEE Main 2026 application form. However, certain fields are restricted from modification.
