The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Provisional Answer Key and question papers on January 31, 2026. Candidates who took the JEE Main Session 1 exams between January 21 and January 29, 2026, can now access their response sheets and the provisional answer key on the official JEE Main website.
Challenge the Provisional Answer Key
Students have a deadline to challenge the provisional answer key. The window for submitting challenges closes on February 6, 2026 . Applicants must log in to the official website using their credentials to submit any objections. Supporting documents are required for all challenges.
A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200 per challenge applies. Candidates can submit challenges for the answer key directly through a link on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Steps to Submit Challenges
The NTA has provided a clear process for candidates to raise objections.
- Visit the official JEE Main website.
- Click on the ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’ link.
- Log in using your Application Number and Password.
- Select ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’ again.
- Question IDs for JEE Main Session 1 will appear sequentially.
- The ‘Correct Option’ column shows the NTA’s proposed answer.
- To challenge an answer, select the checkbox next to your preferred Option ID.
- Upload supporting documents. All documents must be in a single PDF file.
- For Mathematics, Aptitude Test (Paper 2A), and Planning (Paper 2B), click ‘Save claim’ after selecting options.
- The challenged Option IDs will be displayed.
- Click ‘Save claim and Pay Fee finally’.
- Choose a payment mode and complete the fee payment.
The provisional answer key, response sheets, and question papers are available for download. Candidates can use these resources to verify their answers and prepare their challenges.
