JEE Advanced 2026: Exam on May 17, Applications Open April 23

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 will occur on May 17, 2026 . IIT Roorkee announced the exam schedule for the entrance exam that grants admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Key Dates

Online applications for JEE Advanced 2026 open on April 23, 2026 . The registration window closes on May 2, 2026 . Foreign National Candidates (OCI) can register from April 6, 2026 , also closing on May 2, 2026 .

Candidates must appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 to be eligible for the merit list. Paper 1 is scheduled from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Admit cards will be available for download from May 11, 2026 , until the exam day, May 17, 2026 .

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026, students must rank within the top 250,000 candidates in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE or B.Tech). This applies to all categories.

Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times consecutively. The Class 12 examination must have been taken for the first time in 2025 or 2026. Required subjects for Class 12 are Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

Results and Counselling

IIT Roorkee will release candidate response sheets on May 21, 2026 . The preliminary answer key will be available on May 25, 2026 . Candidates can raise objections from May 25 to May 26, 2026 .

The final answer key and results will be declared on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling for IIT admissions will commence on June 2, 2026 .
