The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) began its Class 10 board examinations today, February 15, 2024. Class 12 exams are scheduled to start later this afternoon. A total of 7.48 lakh students across the state are appearing for these crucial examinations.
Exam Details and Security Measures
The Class 10 exams are being held at 1,232 centers, with 4.23 lakh students registered. These exams commenced at 9:45 AM and will conclude at 1:00 PM. Class 12 examinations are set to begin at 2:00 PM and end at 5:15 PM, with 3.24 lakh students appearing at 757 centers.
JAC Secretary Jayant Mishra stated that the Class 10 exams started with vocational subjects. The Class 12 exams will begin in the second shift. Adequate arrangements are in place to ensure the integrity of the examinations.
To maintain a fair examination process, CCTV cameras are installed in all exam halls. Invigilators are prohibited from carrying mobile phones. The Class 10 exams are scheduled to conclude on February 17 with regional language papers. The Class 12 exams will finish on February 23 with core language subjects.
Date Clash with Civic Body Polls
The final day of the Class 12 examinations, February 23, coincides with the state’s civic body polls. JAC officials have requested guidelines from the State Election Commission regarding this date overlap. Further decisions will be made based on the commission’s advice.
