India’s education sector saw significant developments this week, including a new international diplomat program, the launch of a free national AI learning course, and a presidential address on innovation. The BIMSTEC Young Diplomats Interaction Programme began in New Delhi. The government also unveiled the ‘YUVA AI for ALL’ course. BIMSTEC Young Diplomats Programme Starts

The annual BIMSTEC Young Diplomats Interaction Programme launched in New Delhi. It took place at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service. Fourteen young diplomats from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka participated in the week-long event. This program is part of India’s plan to boost cooperation among young diplomats in the Bay of Bengal region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this initiative at the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok to improve institutional and capacity-building efforts.

Government Launches Free National AI Course

The Government introduced ‘YUVA AI for ALL,’ a free 4.5-hour online course. Its goal is to teach every Indian citizen about Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Ministry of Electronics and IT confirmed the course features six self-paced modules. It is simple, practical, and available on platforms like FutureSkills Prime and iGOT Karmayogi. Several popular ed-tech portals also host the course. Applicants completing the course receive an official Government of India certificate. This initiative falls under the IndiaAI Mission. It aims to provide basic AI skills to one crore citizens while promoting ethical and responsible technology use.

President Murmu Urges NIT Delhi Graduates to Innovate

President Droupadi Murmu attended the fifth convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi. She called on young graduates to use their skills for India’s scientific and technological growth. Her address emphasized social welfare. President Murmu noted NITs operate under the Ministry of Education. She praised NIT Delhi for its rapid establishment, facilities, and academic standards. The institute focuses on multidisciplinary education, innovation, industry partnerships, and skill development.

Murmu highlighted a new start-up center for student and faculty entrepreneurs. A planned incubation center will develop ideas into businesses. These initiatives aim to drive innovation and self-employment. The President stated India is moving towards becoming a developed nation. This progress focuses on growth, technology, environment, and sustainability. She cited government programs like Digital India and Make in India as examples of rapid advancement. Institutions like NITs are crucial for developing digital villages. They achieve this by creating tech solutions, teaching digital skills, and collaborating with industries to improve rural areas.

President Murmu encouraged graduates to continue learning and experimenting. She advised them not to fear taking chances to invent new technology. She reminded them that true success means making a positive societal difference and helping bridge gaps among people.
