IIT Jammu & Skill-Lync Launch Future Mobility Engineering Courses

The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu), through its Institute Incubation and Innovation Council (I3C), has launched new certificate programs. These programs are in future mobility engineering and are offered in collaboration with Skill-Lync. The initiative addresses specific skill requirements within India’s evolving automotive and mobility sector.

Program Focus on Future Mobility

The certificate courses focus on key areas shaping the modern automotive industry. These areas include vehicle electrification, advanced vehicle electronics, and software-led systems. Electrification covers technologies for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid systems. Vehicle electronics involves complex embedded systems and sensor integration. Software-led systems encompass autonomous driving, connected car technologies, and in-vehicle infotainment.

A joint press release from IIT Jammu and Skill-Lync stated the programs aim to equip students with skills relevant to these rapid industry changes. This includes preparing them for roles in electric vehicle development, automotive software, and advanced manufacturing processes.

Course Structure and Certification

The certificate courses combine academic rigor with practical application. They reflect current mobility engineering practices across various platforms, including EV, electronics, and software. This blended approach ensures learners gain both theoretical knowledge and industry-relevant skills.

Upon successful completion of the programs, learners will receive a joint certificate. This certificate will be issued by both IIT Jammu and Skill-Lync.

The IIT Jammu and Skill-Lync Partnership

This collaboration strengthens applied engineering education. It aligns curriculum design with contemporary industry needs. The partnership also ensures a strong foundation in core engineering principles is maintained, according to the press release.

An I3C–IIT Jammu representative affirmed the partnership supports the institute’s academic objectives. The official stated, ‘We remain committed to advancing engineering excellence and contributing to India’s technology ecosystem.’ The collaboration with Skill-Lync supports structured initiatives addressing the needs of the mobility and automotive sector.

Krishna Bandaru, co-founder of Skill-Lync, highlighted shifts in automotive engineering roles. He noted changes across electric vehicles (EVs), software-defined platforms, and advanced manufacturing. Bandaru added, ‘Partnering with I3C, IIT Jammu enables these learnings to be delivered within a stronger academic framework.’

Addressing Industry Skill Gaps

The automotive industry globally is transitioning towards sustainable and technologically advanced solutions. This shift creates a demand for engineers with specialized skills in areas like battery technology, power electronics, embedded systems, and artificial intelligence for autonomous vehicles. These programs provide targeted training to fill these emerging skill gaps.

The courses are designed for students and professionals seeking to enter or advance within the future mobility sector. They offer a pathway to develop expertise in fields critical for the next generation of transportation.

Access and Trial Classes

The programs will be accessible through Skill-Lync’s platform. They will also be listed on IIT Jammu’s official course offerings. Interested candidates can book free trial classes to experience the course content.
