IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for Int’l Students; Deadline March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can submit their applications online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal.

Admission Details for International Students

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. The application portal will close at 4:00 PM on March 30, 2026.

Applicants must provide a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to submit the names of two referees who will provide recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

Eligibility and Required Scores

Admission to PhD and PG programs at IIT Delhi may require scores from national examinations like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores such as Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also considered. English language proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination may be required.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
