IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for Int’l Students | Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline for international students to apply is March 30, 2026 . Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.

Admissions Overview

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply for PhD and PG courses. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to submit names of two referees. These referees will be contacted for recommendation letters.

Eligibility and Scores

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International applicants may also submit scores from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Additionally, proof of English language proficiency is required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination, among others.

Selection Process

Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
