IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for Int’l Students

IIT Delhi opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. Applications are accepted through the official website, international.iitd.ac.in . The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM . This admission cycle is for the academic years 2026-27.

Eligibility Criteria

Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English language proficiency.

Application Requirements

Candidates must provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Academic and Testing Requirements

For PhD and PG programs, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. Accepted Indian tests include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Admission Process

Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews.
