Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. This requires submitting a statement of proficiency and naming two referees for recommendation letters.
Referee Recommendations
Referees will be asked to assess candidates’ aptitude. They will evaluate proficiency in their chosen field. Potential for research and independent thought will also be reviewed. Referee comments will cover English oral and written skills.
Admission Requirements
Submission of scores from standardized tests may be required. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). The DST INSPIRE fellowship is also a potential requirement.
International examination scores are also considered. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission decisions are based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. An interview committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews.
