IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.
Eligibility for International Students
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. This can be done through a self-declaration. They must also provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Academic and Language Requirements
Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International test scores, including GRE and GMAT, may also be considered. Applicants must submit scores from English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, or Cambridge English.
Admission Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline. The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
