Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in .
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will evaluate the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Submission of scores from standardized tests may be required. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
- Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
- Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
English language proficiency must be demonstrated through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with faculty committees from their respective disciplines.
