IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students | Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in .

Admission Details

The application portal for foreign nationals will close at 4 PM on March 30, 2026. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.

Applicants must submit a statement declaring English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Academic Requirements

Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International applicants can also submit scores from exams like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, or similar examinations are also mandatory.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Students with a strong academic record will be invited to interview with a faculty committee in their chosen discipline.
