IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The admission cycle is for the academic year 2026-27 . Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

International students can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal. The portal is located atinternational.iitd.ac.in. Applications close at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Non-Indian nationals can apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees.

Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude. They will comment on proficiency in the chosen field. Potential for research and independent thinking are also evaluated. Referee comments will address English oral and written skills.

Admission Requirements

IIT Delhi may require scores from national-level entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) scores are also considered. Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE) may also be relevant.

International standardized test scores can also fulfill admission requirements. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency test scores are also necessary. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited. An interview committee will comprise faculty members from the relevant discipline. The committee will assess the candidate’s suitability.
