IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi is accepting applications from foreign nationals for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM IST . Interested candidates can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Eligibility

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referees will evaluate candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.

Required Scores

Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national entrance exams. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also accepted. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examinations.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
