IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs . The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in .

Admission Requirements

Candidates must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will evaluate the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from standardized tests. These can include:

  • Indian Entrance Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
  • International Exams: GRE, GMAT.

English language proficiency tests are also mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission is based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to meet with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The committee will assess candidates’ suitability for the program.
