Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal atinternational.iitd.ac.in.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Tests: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
- International Tests: GRE, GMAT.
English language proficiency test scores are also required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee in their chosen discipline.
