IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 PM. Interested candidates can apply online through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal.
The institute offers admission to PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for Indian nationals. International students may submit scores from GRE or GMAT.
English language proficiency must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant department. The interview committee will evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the program.
