Admission Process Details

Applicants must provide a statement on their English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will be contacted to assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national-level entrance exams. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE) program.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Candidates may also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The committee will evaluate their suitability for the program.
