Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.
Prospective students must apply online through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.
Applicants need to submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Admission Requirements
Candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
For PhD and PG programs, scores from international examinations like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) can also be considered.
Additionally, international applicants may be required to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will admit students based on their interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview.
