The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for international students to its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Admission Requirements
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will evaluate candidates on aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This information comes from the official IIT Delhi notification.
Required Scores
To be considered for PhD and PG programs, candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores are also accepted, such as Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Furthermore, applicants must provide scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination, among others.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will receive invitations for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
