IIT Delhi PhD/PG Admissions Open for International Students

IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application window closes on March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are for the 2026-2027 academic year. Interested students must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national-level entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also considered. This includes Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Admission Process

Admission decisions are based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
