IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM . Interested candidates can apply online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. This can be done through a self-declaration statement.
Application Requirements
Candidates need to provide names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The letters will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills, according to official notification.
Academic and Language Proficiency
Submission of scores from tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE may be required for PhD and PG programs. International test scores such as GRE and GMAT are also considered. Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Admission Process
IIT Delhi will admit students based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
