The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .
Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are for the academic years 2026-27.
The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in. The deadline for submission is 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Depending on the program, candidates may need to submit scores from examinations such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.
Scores from international tests like the GRE and GMAT are also considered for admission.
Applicants must submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to an interview.
The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
