Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in .
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be asked to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Eligibility may require scores from national entrance exams like the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program. International examination scores, such as Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), may also be considered.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with faculty committees.
Applicants must also submit scores from recognized English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
