IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The application window is open for international students . The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications can be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in .
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be asked to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Depending on the program, candidates may need to submit scores from competitive examinations. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
- Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
- Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
International students may also need to provide scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Admission Process
IIT Delhi will grant admission based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
