IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and Master’s programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can submit their applications online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website:international.iitd.ac.in.
The application portal will close at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026 . Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement detailing their English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will evaluate candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International test scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be required.
Candidates must also demonstrate English language proficiency through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Students with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The committee will assess their suitability for the program.
