IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply through the official website, international.iitd.ac.in .

The application window closes on March 30, 2026 . Applicants must be non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.

Admission Requirements

Candidates must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores like GRE and GMAT are also considered.

English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.

Academic Years

Applications are for the academic years 2026-27 .
