Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Admissions are for the academic years 2026-2027.
Application Process
Candidates must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website:international.iitd.ac.in.
Required application materials include a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. Applicants must also provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English communication skills.
Eligibility and Requirements
Admission requirements may include scores from standardized tests.
- Indian Entrance Exams: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: Graduate Records Examination (GRE), Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
- English Proficiency Tests: TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, Cambridge English Examination, or similar tests.
Selection Criteria
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
