IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for international students to its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are accepted online until March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. Two referees will be required to provide recommendation letters.

Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills. The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in . The deadline for submissions is 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Admission Requirements

IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores, including GRE and GMAT, can also be considered.

Candidates must also submit scores from English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. A strong academic record is necessary for consideration.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews. Applicants with strong academic backgrounds will be invited.
